How do I switch to Bioniq from my current ISP?
We will first need to do a line of site test to confirm coverage in your area. You will then need to place an order with us and cancel with your current ISP. We then take care of the rest. Please submit an inquiry and our Wireless team will guide you through the process.
What is the difference between Wireless and ADSL?
ADSL runs over copper lines. Copper often is unreliable, heavily contended and offers average speeds of around 4Mbps. It is also vulnerable to theft. Wireless is faster more reliable and works from an antenna on your rooftop which connects to your ISP mast.
How long does Wireless take to install?
On average lead time for Wireless is 7-10 working days .
What is the setup costs for Home Wireless?
- R4 499 – Once off cost for equipment. Equipment is the Subscriber’s property and must be insured by the Subscriber. Month-to-Month agreement on Internet Service
- R1 560 – Equipment is invoiced over three months. Equipment is the Subscriber’s property and must be insured by the Subscriber. Three Month Agreement on the Internet Service Option, thereafter Month-to-Month.
- R825 – Equipment is invoiced over six months. Equipment is the Subscriber’s property and must be insured by the Subscriber. Six Month Agreement on the Internet Service Option, thereafter Month-to-Month.
- R339 – Equipment is rented over 24 months term. Equipment is Bioniq’s property and is insured by the Bioniq. 24 Month Agreement on the Internet Service Option.
You will also require a router if you don’t already have one. We have a wide variety of routers available to suit your specific needs. Routers start @ R550.
Can I get Home Wireless for my business?
If you are running a micro home business you can apply for Home Wireless, we define a micro home business as a entity with 5 or less registered employees. Please note that home wireless is a best-effort service.
Terms & Conditions
Installation, cabling and lead times
- The installation fee includes cabling up to 40 meters from the Antenna to the Router. If your installation requires additional cabling, a site survey will be done, after which you will receive a quote from the applicable last-mile provider Contractor. Should you choose to proceed, you will be liable for any additional costs incurred. The additional cabling is directly payable to the applicable last-mile provider.
- Installation lead times are a guide based on averages and will vary. Line activation and connection times need to be added for full turnaround estimation.
